What is a cosmeceutical?

The term “cosmeceutical” is a portmanteau word derived from the words “cosmetic” and “pharmaceutical”. A cosmeceutical is a topical cosmetic product that produces significant biological effects on the skin. ORGÉV comes from the professional medical world and all its cosmetic products are cosmeceuticals manufactured according to pharmaceutical standards.

Are your cosmeceuticals tested on animals?

We do not test our cosmeceuticals on animals. The tolerance of each new ORGÉV product is evaluated using two so-called alternative experimental methods: tests on cell cultures and use tests on volunteers.

Should we put ORGÉV cosmeceuticals in the refrigerator?

ORGÉV cosmeceuticals can be stored without damage at room temperature while they are in use, if they are protected from light and heat. However, some products, in order to improve efficiency, are recommended to be placed in the refrigerator. In this case, this specification is mentioned on the packaging. If the temperature is above 25 ° C, if you store your products in a humid atmosphere, or if you do not plan to use your products for a long time, you can place them in the refrigerator. In general, make sure you close your products properly after use, use potted products with clean fingers or spatulas, and protect them from light, humidity and temperature variations.

Are ORGÉV cosmeceuticals "natural" or "organic"?

The genius of human beings is their ability to transform nature to improve their living conditions. Failure to modify nature would result in an average human life expectancy of around 30 years. Regarding cosmetics, man has been improving their quality for thousands of years (the Egyptians were already synthesizing molecules for their therapeutic properties more than 3000 years ago). And today, and particularly at ORGÉV, we use the latest discoveries and the most recent biotechnologies to obtain the most efficient products possible in terms of efficiency and safety. ORGÉV will not hesitate to prefer a so-called “non-natural” ingredient to a so-called “natural” ingredient if the latter is less safe and less effective. The current marketing success of so-called “natural” or “organic” cosmetics should not hide the fact that these products are generally much less effective than conventional cosmetics, that it is not because they are “natural” that they cannot be dangerous, and their stability and storage pose major problems. However, beyond this fact, ORGÉV offers a large number of “natural” products (containing at least 95% of ingredients of natural origin), and many of them can even be qualified as “100% natural. “. ORGÉV manufactures many products without any preservative, thanks to formulations that are self-protected (with low pH or low water activity) or sterile (cosmetics sterilized by autoclave).

At what age should I start using anti-ageing products?

Aging of the skin begins around the age of 25. From this age, it is advisable to use products adapted to your skin and your needs after a diagnosis with an aesthetic professional.

INJECTABLES

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a safe, effective and established non-surgical medical technique that was developed by the French physician Dr. Michel Pastor in the 1950s. This procedure consists of multiple injections of micro-doses of active therapeutic substances. These injections can be intraepidermal, intradermal or subcutaneous.

Who are the people authorised to inject MACDERMOL?

Only doctors trained in injection techniques are authorized to inject dermal fillers. In some countries, such as Canada, England or Australia, nurses are also allowed to give injections.

How long do the effects of MACDERMOL last?

The durability varies from 3 to 18 months depending on:

  1. the type of MACDERMOL used
  2. the patient’s skin quality
  3. the patient’s age
  4. the patient’s lifestyle (exposure to the sun, consumption of tobacco or alcohol, lack of sleep or nutritional deficiencies may shorten the effects)
  5. the practitioner’s injection technique
  6. the severity of the wrinkle to correct

Is MACDERMOL injection painful?

The injections are relatively painless. Topical application of an anesthetic agent is possible to improve patient comfort. Are there possible side effects after injecting MACDERMOL? After injection, slight redness, inflammation and bruising may occur at the injection site. These temporary reactions which usually do not last longer than 72 hours should not be a cause for concern and can simply be treated with the application of ice and arnica or vitamin K cream, and easily concealed by makeup.

What are the recommendations to follow before injecting MACDERMOL?

Do not take aspirin within three days of the injection session. MACDERMOL is not allergenic, no testing is necessary.

What are the recommendations to follow after injection of MACDERMOL?

During the two weeks following the injection session, patients are advised to avoid exposure to the sun and high heat.

Topical applications of an arnica or vitamin K cream to decrease potential side effects, as well as antioxidants and sunscreens to increase the duration of effects, are possible (ideally use ELAXINE Comfort from Novatex Bioengineering for these two purposes).

How effective is MACDERMOL compared to botulinum toxin?

Botulinum toxin (TB) is not a filler. It is a toxin that will paralyze the muscles. TB offers many drawbacks:

– Its dosage as well as its injection must be the subject of a lot of professionalism because allergies, infections and other complications are not uncommon
– It is only indicated for certain wrinkles in the upper third of the face (wrinkles of the glabella, crow’s feet and horizontal lines of the forehead)
– The face lacks expression and often appears lifeless

However, some doctors use TB associated with HA with great success. Clinical studies show that TB combined with HA is more effective than TB alone.

What is osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is the most common joint disease and the one causing the most disability, especially in the elderly (over 80 percent of the population over 55 is affected by osteoarthritis). It is characterised by erosion of cartilage, changes in the subchondral bone, formation of osteophytes and synovial inflammation. The main symptoms of osteoarthritis are chronic pain, stiffness and loss of mobility.

What are the effects of ARTHROMAC?

ARTHROMAC is a viscosupplementation product, which is a well-established, safe and effective arthritis treatment by injecting a solution of hyaluronic acid into the affected joint. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a major component of synovial fluid and cartilage, (and, thanks to its viscoelastic and rheological properties, is) responsible for lubricating and absorbing shock in the joints. It decreases the friction between the joint surfaces and protects the cartilage tissue. HA also has analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and chondroprotective properties, stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans, and facilitates the evacuation of cartilage debris.

The quantity and quality of HA in synovial fluid is reduced in patients with osteoarthritis because its synthesis by the synovia and cartilage cells is disrupted. The protection of the articular surfaces is therefore greatly impaired, the cartilage becomes vulnerable and exposed to structural degradation due to the forces of friction and compression.

ARTHROMAC will restore good lubrication and shock absorption within the joint and will significantly reduce joint pain and stiffness. ARTHROMAC relieves pain, improves mobility and protects cartilage.

How is ARTHROMAC administered?

ARTHROMAC is given as a single injection into the affected joint. The procedure is performed by a physician or other qualified healthcare professional and takes approximately 10 minutes.

Does injecting ARTHROMAC hurt?

The injection is relatively painless. Topical application of an anesthetic agent is possible to improve patient comfort.

Which joints can be treated with ARTHROMAC?

All synovial joints with osteoarthritis can be treated. Particularly the knee and hip, but also the ankle, shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers, as well as the temporomandibular and zygapophyseal joints.

Are there possible side effects after injecting ARTHROMAC?

An inflammatory reaction with pain in the injected joint is sometimes seen after injection. These temporary reactions, which usually do not last longer than 72 hours, are not a cause for concern and can simply be treated with joint rest and ice application.

What are the recommendations to follow after injection of ARTHROMAC?

Approximately 24 hours of joint rest is recommended after injection.

How effective is ARTHROMAC compared to NSAIDs and corticosteroids?

Clinical studies show at the symptomatological level the superiority of viscosupplementation compared to NSAIDs and corticosteroids from the third week after injection, with a similar efficacy before this period, and a longer duration of action for viscosupplementation ( up to 14 months).
In addition, unlike NSAIDs and corticosteroids, viscosupplementation will provide:

– correction of joint stiffness and increased mobility

– complete security. Many side effects and contraindications are linked to NSAIDs and corticosteroids

– chondroprotective and repairing effects, allowing to protect and repair the cartilage

– easier evacuation of cartilaginous debris

Clinical studies also show that the use of NSAIDs or corticosteroids in combination with viscosupplementation is more effective in reducing pain than NSAIDs or corticosteroids alone.
